The workshop
Furniture as physical worldbuilding.
About Mosswood
Mosswood is a small-batch woodworking studio in Central New York creating strange, beautiful furniture and objects inspired by forests, folklore, and the natural world.
Drawn Before It Is Built
Every major piece begins as an illustration—not merely a plan, but concept art for an object that will become real. The drawing establishes a feeling; the timber decides how that feeling takes shape.
Wood With a Past
We seek locally sourced, fallen, and reclaimed wood, then work with the grain, knots, curves, and weather already present. Rather than erase those marks, Mosswood makes them central to the design.
Modern Heirlooms
From carved mushrooms and candle holders to sculptural stools, cabinets, and one-of-one tables, every object is made slowly and intended to gather a story of its own. Questions about a piece or commission are always welcome.
